Spirit

In the holistic medical model, the three pillars of health are mind, body and spirit. Many of us work hard at gaining physical or mental health. Spirituality is often lost in the shuffle. For some of my patients, the root of health lies in their Spirituality. Spirituality and nourishing the spirit are very individual and it is not up to me to decide what the best fit would be for achieving spiritual well-being. If you are struggling to find ways to incorporate spirituality into a busy life, a book on meditation or a DVD on yoga may be a good place to start. A deck of cards with quotes that make you think on them may provide daily inspiration. Be creative and spend a little bit of time each day working as hard on your spiritual well-being as you do on your physical well-being.
